Why we built Milne Se Pehle

When our founders were navigating their own marriage decisions, they realised the same thing: everyone vouches for the other person, but no one actually knows. The village elder who would have confirmed the match is gone. What replaced them? A PDF biodata and a WhatsApp photo.

The numbers are stark. Over ₹22,812 crore is lost to matrimonial fraud every year in India. More than 62,000 cases are reported annually. And 39% of matrimonial profiles contain information that simply isn't true.

The problem isn't that people lie — it's that there's no easy way to verify. A detective agency costs ₹25,000–₹50,000, takes weeks, and feels invasive. Nothing in between existed. Until now.

What we built

Milne Se Pehle ("Before We Meet") is a government-backed verification certificate that anyone can get in minutes. We pull from UIDAI (Aadhaar), Income Tax records, CIBIL, and court records to produce a tamper-proof QR certificate — the kind that families can actually trust.

The certificate is consent-gated: the holder decides when to share it, and every view requires their OTP. Privacy is foundational, not an afterthought.

Our commitment

  • We never sell your data.
  • PII never touches the client — all verification is server-side.
  • You have the right to delete your data at any time.
  • Every certificate access is logged and visible to the certificate holder.
